Monday evenings (March 28/April 4/April 11) TSAC will offer the THEC/TSAC After the FAFSA for graduating Seniors and their families. These will begin at 6 pm Central Time. Topics for the webinar will include reviewing the Student Aid Report, updating the FAFSA, completing Verification, and reviewing the TSAC Student Portal; everything the student needs to know to ensure their aid is as ready for college as they are! Students/families can register for their preferred date at collegefortn.org/student-webinars/.
**As a reminder, this is a single webinar presented multiple dates for student convenience.

The 2022-2023 Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will open for completion October 1, 2021! Students and parents that possess a valid Social Security Number must visit https://fsaid.ed.gov/npas/index.htm to create an FSA ID prior to FAFSA completion. This is the only site for FSA ID creation.

Students must complete the 2022-2023 FAFSA online at www.fafsa.gov by February 1, 2022 in order to remain eligible for TN Promise. Students are encouraged to complete the FAFSA as soon as possible as some scholarships are first-come, first-served!

Visit https://www.collegefortn.org/fafsahelp/ and watch the short FAFSA walkthrough videos.

TNFAFSAFrenzy.gov: This website includes our TN FAFSA Frenzy Toolkit, which provides important information about the FAFSA, best practices, and helpful templates to help make your FAFSA efforts successful. Starting in mid-November, TNFAFSAFrenzy.gov will include a data dashboard that will allow school staff to monitor their FAFSA data compared to last year and other schools across Tennessee.
  • Direct Student FAFSA Assistance: This year we are providing three new ways students and families can receive direct assistance with completing the FAFSA:
    1. Watch Our “How to Complete a FAFSA“ Videos. These quick videos walk students through each step of completing a FAFSA. Videos can be accessed on YouTube here.
    2. Attend a Live Virtual Workshop. We offer two virtual workshops every week where a Tennessee FAFSA expert walks students through completing the FAFSA. Students can register for a workshop here.
    3. Contact Us. If students need additional assistance completing the FAFSA, they can reach out to our FAFSA experts at FAFSA.Help@tn.gov. We have staff standing by to help. In the coming weeks, we plan to launch a FAFSA hotline to provide a direct point of contact for students and their families to receive FAFSA help.
